The 1st Meeting of the Correspondence Group on the Strategic Plan of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity for 2024 – 2026 (CGSP-1) 11 - 12 April 2023, Virtual Meeting
The virtual meeting of the 1st Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026 (CGSP-1) was held from 11 to 12 April 2023. The meeting was organized virtually using Zoom meeting platform. The meeting was attended by 121 participants from APT Members, Associate Members and Affiliate members.
The meeting discussed the initial draft of the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026, including the inputs from the Members. The meeting decided to schedule another meeting on 3 May 2023 to continue the discussion and develop First Draft of the Strategic Plan of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity for 2024-2026.

The 35th APT Standardization Program Forum (ASTAP-35) 17 - 20 April 2023, Bangkok, Thailand (Hybrid)
The 35th APT Standardization Program Forum (ASTAP-35) was held from 17 to 20 April 2022. The meeting was attended by 179 participants from APT Members, Affiliate Members, International Organizations, and other organizations. ASTAP-35 organized one day Industry Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Metaverse and Open-Source on 17 April 2023. The Standardization Workshop focusing on Capacity Building Programmes of Standard Development Organizations from APT region was also held under the Expert Group on Bridging the Standardization Gap.
ASTAP-35 re-elected Dr. Hyoung Jun Kim (Republic of Korea) as Chair of ASTAP and Mr. Xiaoyu You (People's Republic of China) and Dr. Hideyuki Iwata (Japan) as Vice-Chairs of ASTAP for next 3-year term.
The ASTAP-35 finalized and approved 3 new APT Reports, 3 revised APT Report, and 1 Liaison Statement to ITU-T Study Group and 7 Questionnaires. The meeting also revised the Work Plans of three Working Groups and Terms of Reference of three Expert Groups of ASTAP.
ASTAP-35 also agreed to set up a Task Force on Future Direction of ASTAP to review the structure and work activities of ASTAP.

The 1st Meeting of APT
Preparatory Group for WTSA-24
The 1st Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-24 (APT WTSA24-1) was held in hybrid mode on 21 April 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was attended by 127 participants from APT Members, Associate Member, Affiliate Members, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and APT Secretariat.
The meeting elected Dr. Hyoungjun Kim (Republic of Korea) as Chair and Dr. Hideyuki Iwata (Japan), Mr. Sushil Kumar (India), Mr. Xu Heyuan (People’s Republic of China) and Mr. Behzad Ahmadi (Islamic Republic of Iran) as Vice-Chairs of APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-24 (APT-WTSA24). The meeting also appointed Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Working Groups of APT-WTSA24. In addition, the meeting approved the Structure, Working Methods, and Work Plan of the APT-WTSA24.
The Meeting decided to have four (4) additional meetings to coordinate APT views for WTSA-24 and the 2nd Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-24 is expected to be held at the end of January 2024 (in virtual mode) to identify possible topics for APT Common Proposals.

2nd Meeting of the Correspondence Group on the Strategic Plan of the
Asia-Pacific Telecommunity for 2024-2026 (CGSP-2)
APT organized a virtual meeting of the 2nd Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026 (CGSP-2) on 3 May 2023. The meeting was organized virtually using Zoom meeting platform. The meeting was attended by 93 participants from APT Members, Associate Members and Affiliate members.
CGSP-2 continued the discussion on the initial draft of the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026, including the inputs from the Members. The meeting decided to finalize the draft in the 3rd Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026 (CGSP-3).

SATRC Workshop on Policy, Regulations and Services 8 - 10 May 2023, Islamabad, Pakistan (Hybrid)
The workshop will be hosted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The SATRC Workshop on PRS is a part of the implementation of SATRC Action Plan Phase VIII (SAP-VIII) for 2022-2023 which was approved by the 22nd SATRC meeting held in 2021 virtually. The objective of this workshop is to share insights, experiences, best practices as well as engage in dialogue to identify the challenges, opportunities and possible way forward on the work items under the SATRC Working Group on Policy, Regulation and Services for SAP-VIII in order to have better understanding on those issues. It will also provide an opportunity for the SATRC Members as well as industry to share their experiences.

The 31st Meeting of APT Wireless Group (AWG-31) 22 - 26 May 2023 Ha Noi, Viet Nam (Hybrid)
The meeting will be hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
AWG covers various aspects of emerging wireless systems to meet the emerging digital convergence era in the Asia-Pacific region. It also assists to provide effective radiocommunication solutions and to facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge. In its 31st meeting, the AWG will continue to study on the existing work items, report on the progress of studies and discuss the relevant issues.

The 23rd APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF-23) 20 - 22 June 2023, Nadi, Fiji (Hybrid)
The forum will be hosted by the Ministry of Communications, Republic of Fiji. PRF-23 will continue to focus its work in line with the five Strategic Pillars of the Strategic Plan of the APT which serves as the guideline for APT’s activities for 2021-2023. This PRF-23 will consist of special features which are as follows:
1) Special Ministerial Session: A session among Ministers and/or Vice Ministers to share insights, experiences, lessons learned, policies being implemented in their countries with regard to digital government, smart nation and smart island which are in line with the objective of the Singapore Statement adopted by the ICT Ministers of APT. 2) Regulators’ Roundtable: A roundtable among the Heads of the Regulators to share their experiences and practices on regulatory issues and identify the challenges, opportunities and possible way forward towards digital connectivity and digital transformation for sustainable digital society. 3) Business Dialogues: Sessions to provide platform for industry representatives to express their views on conducive ICT regulatory regime, satellite constellations and 5G developments.

The Meeting
of the SATRC Working Group on 4 - 6 July 2023, Maldives
The Meeting of SATRC Working Group on Policy, Regulation and Services is a part of the activities of SATRC Action Plan Phase VIII (SAP-VIII) which was adopted by the 22nd Meeting of SATRC (SATRC-22) held virtually in 2021. It will be the second meeting of the Working Group under SATRC Action Plan Phase VIII and it is expected to discuss and finalize the Work Items assigned to the Working Group by the Council.

Meeting of the APT Conference Preparatory Group 14 - 19 August 2023, Brisbane, Australia (Hybrid)
The meeting will be hosted by the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (DITRDCA). The provisional objectives of APG23-6, as decided by APG23-5, are as follows: · review the results of APG23-5 · review the outcomes of CPM23-2 and 30th meeting of the RAG · finalise APT views on WRC-23 Agenda Items based on input contributions from APT Members · develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals for WRC-23 Agenda Items · review issues related to RA-23 activities and develop APT views, if any · develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals for RA-23, if any · review the activities of other regional organisations, in particular, their positions and common proposals with a view to fostering inter-regional cooperation · arrangement of coordination for RA-23 and WRC-23
